Bouysselet is an old native grape varietal which was rediscovered only a few years ago on a small patch of pre-phylloxera vines - Its father is Savagnin (Jura), and the mother is Plant de Cauzette (Béarn, Pyrenees) . In Occitan language, Bouysselet means ‘buisson’ in French, and ‘bush’ in English. It was abandoned as it is a late ripening grape variety - but with the climate change, it achieves beautiful maturity for utterly delicious wines!
